International Wine Report (Jan. 2022) Review of 2019 Proprietary Red, Paradise Hills Vineyard

Blankiet Estate Proprietary Red

Review by Joe D'Angelo

Rating: (98)

The 2019 Paradise Hills Proprietary Red is a thing of beauty. A cellar worthy wine, which immediately begins to impress with its perfumed aromatics of ripe dark currants and black cherries, that are woven together with pencil shavings, exotic spices, fresh dark florals, herbs, tobacco and mineral nuances that all come together and burst from the glass. On the palate, this is medium to full-bodied with absolutely incredible overall balance and structure. This stunning red goes on to impress with its wonderful concentration, precision and beautifully pure ripe dark fruits that continue to captivate the senses as they build up to the gorgeous finish. The 2019 is a masterful display of both elegance and precision, and it should go on to age brilliantly for many years to come.
